First things first. What is a swap and why on earth would someone want to participate in one? From what I can gather a blog swap is basically when one blogger sends another blogger "gifts" related to a theme. A swap is organized by a blogger and other bloggers are free to "enter" the swap. Then the host-blogger pairs up the partners randomly and you are on your way to shopping for a complete stranger.
I know it sounds a little weird/scary to shop for someone you have never met, but I like to think of it as a glorified grow-up version of penpals. And it is also like having Christmas in September.
The theme for the swap I entered is Tea. Yes as in herbal tea. Earl Grey tea. Matcha tea. You get it. Good thing I drink A LOT of tea. The host is travelling to London and wanted to do something related to that (and obviously the British drink a lot of tea). Click here for more details about the swap (and to read more of MRMs fabulous blog).
I found out my swap partner last week and I am really excited to start shopping for her. We have a budget of around $25 and can spend it on anything "tea-related" (tea leaves, mugs, tea diffusers, etc.). I've got a few things in mind and am just waiting to hear back from my partner regarding her particular tastes and style. I love to shop for other people's gifts, so this should be a lot of fun.
I know many of you must think I am crazy for doing this, but don't come crying to me when you have nothing to celebrate Christmas in September ;)
Stay tuned for my tea swap updates!!!
